Individual Therapy
In person in Redwood City, CA or virtually throughout California
I meet with clients weekly, sometimes more often, if necessary
Fees: $290 for 50-min. session
Fees are determined by my education and advanced training, industry standards, and cost of living in the Bay Area.
There may be a few sliding scale slots available. Please inquire if cost is prohibitive and you would like to see if we can work out a fee.
I am now using Thrizer in order to make therapy more accessible. Thrizer is a payment app that does all the paperwork and billing for you. Here is how it works:
You can use the app to pay the full fee and wait to receive reimbursement for free
Or you can pay only your co-insurance and Thrizer will bill your insurance for the rest (for example, if you have 80% coverage, then you pay 20% of the session fee and Thrizer bills your insurance for the rest.) Thrizer charges a 5% convenience fee for this option.
Although I am not currently accepting insurance, I can provide a superbill for out-of-network insurance reimbursement. Most PPO insurances will provide reimbursement for mental health services, some cover the majority, if not all of my fees. However, reimbursement is something you will have to work out with your insurance company.
To verify your insurance: these questions can help you check with your insurance carrier whether out of network therapy services are covered:
Do I have out-of-network behavioral health benefits?
If yes, what is my deductible?
What is the maximum allowable rate for individual psychotherapy (CPT code 90834 and/or 90837)?
What is the percentage of the maximum allowable rate you will reimburse? - This should be the amount you will receive after you have met your deductible

Good Faith Estimate: You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
